Something to Listen To

http://www.walkintheword.com/broadcast.aspx

Do you struggle with people pleasing? Oh boy I certainly do. I also can struggle with low self esteem. This message by James MacDonald really hit me (thank you honey for having me listen to it!) With regard to people pleasing, Dr. MacDonald led us to Galatians 1:10 which says - Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ. Also Proverbs 29:25 says - Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.

With regard to low self esteem, Dr. MacDonald said whether you have a low self esteem or a high self esteem, its a different side of the same coin. A lie told to us by Satan is that if you have a low self esteem, you need to work on having a higher self-esteem. WRONG! Any self-esteem, is selfish! To get away from having a low self-esteem, one needs to work on their Christ-esteem.

Please listen to this when you get a chance (not long). You will see how the two tie in together.

Edited: Look at the blog "Home Sweet Simple Home" listed to the right. Isn't God amazing - I wrote mine before I checked her blog, and to my knowledge, she doesn't read mine. God is a great orchestrator!

Ah, Jen- God IS indeed good!
No, I didn't read your post before posting mine.
I believe God wanted us to get a message out there today- don't you?!
May the Lord be gracious to you, may He show you compassion and bless you. [adapted from Isaiah 30:18]

Stay, stay at home, my heart, and rest;
Home-keeping hearts are happiest,
For those that wander they know not where
Are full of trouble and full of care;
To stay at home is best.

Weary and homesick and distressed,
They wander east, they wander west,
And are baffled and beaten and blown about
By the winds of the wilderness of doubt;
To stay at home is best.

Then stay at home, my heart, and rest;
The bird is safest in its nest;
O'er all that flutter their wings and fly
A hawk is hovering in the sky;
To stay at home is best.
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
