Owen the Photographer

These pictures were taken about two weeks ago by Owen (5.5 years).

His new Buzz Light Year space ship. What a deal! Normally about $20 at Toys 'R Us - on sale the day of the photo for $4.00! Woohoo!

A random "good girl little people". Even the animals are "good girl little peoples." By the way, that is the pattern of my tile, not dirt marks - although if Owen took the same picture this very moment, it likely would be dirt!
Another random toy posed for a picture!
A Geo-Trax movie. Collin LOVES all things Geo-Trax!A picture of the brochure that came with, what else, Geo-Trax!
I really considered not posting this. I am the owner of this blog, after all, but indeed the purpose of this blog is to boast about my weaknesses! Ha ha! And these were in the round of pictures Owen took!
Again, I didn't have to post this, but then I figure, everyone has a dirty laundry pile (or piles), right?

And I'll leave you with the most beautiful picture of the bunch! Owen took a picture of our backyard after we received a spring snow.

I'm hoping to get a better digital camera this year sometime. If that happens, we promised Owen he could have this one!

I often look at (unflatering) pictures of myself that DH or Alexis took and am slightly horrified. I have the urge to hit delete very quickly. I realized however, that this is how I sometimes (often) look, especially when we are all just hanging out at home.

They think I am beautiful and those times are special. So what I see when I look at those pictures is not at all what they see.

I think you look beautiful in this picture and Owen must think so, too. :)

There is no weakness there!

You're too sweet Loni!

Stay, stay at home, my heart, and rest;
Home-keeping hearts are happiest,
For those that wander they know not where
Are full of trouble and full of care;
To stay at home is best.

Weary and homesick and distressed,
They wander east, they wander west,
And are baffled and beaten and blown about
By the winds of the wilderness of doubt;
To stay at home is best.

Then stay at home, my heart, and rest;
The bird is safest in its nest;
O'er all that flutter their wings and fly
A hawk is hovering in the sky;
To stay at home is best.
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
