For Grammie....

....because every time you see her, I happen not to have the beautiful clothes that you gave her on her! Here's some pictures for you (sorry they're blurry - they looked great on my camera!) They're proof that she does wear them, I promise! I will make sure that she wears some next time you see her - even if I have to run upstairs and change her!
It's hard to believe our baby is one month old already! It can't be so - but, yes, the calendar tells us its true. She continues to be a wonderful baby! Sadly, she already had her first cold, but I really expected it, being she was born in January. Actually all four of the kids have a cold. Thankfully Baby K is getting better quickly - not so with her big sister though! Today is Baby K's one month well check-up, and C's 4 year old check up. I will have the doctor listen to M while we're there as I suspect her cold has turned to bronchitis. O is also sick, but I don't think its settled into his chest (thank God since he has asthma!). Those inhaled steroids really prevent the asthma attacks, and prevent colds from settling in his chest. I was so hesitant to have him do these inhaled steroids - it feels like so much medicine - but did you know doing inhaled steroids two times a day, all year long, is less than taking oral steroids once a year (which he has done every year of his life but this one!) - so it convinced me, and every time he gets a cold and gets over it quickly, I am also convinced!
O had a wonderful report card, that smart boy! He reads well beyond his grade level, and his report card reflects that. His favorite books right now are the Magic Tree House series - his class went to see a theatre production of it last Friday - he had such fun! As I said before, he truly is a bookworm! But he also loves math - in fact, today he's home sick, and what is this boy doing? Math problems! He wants to learn multiplication, so he's working on that. Isn't that what you would do on your day off!?!? He loves to learn, and I'm really thankful for that.

Well, I have a bunch to do today. I always do this special cleaning after the kids are sick and on the mend - wash sheets, sanitize door knobs, light switches, remote controls, etc. - maybe if I did that more often when they're not sick, they wouldn't get sick so often? {shrugging shoulders}

On that note, I will end with some cute pictures - can you guess who the last picture is? See any resemblance? Baby K has similarities to all her siblings, but I think the brother in the last picture is the one she resembles the most.

Have a wonderful week - maybe I'll get on here one other day and post some fabulous crock pot dishes I made last week - I used the crockpot three times, and am using it again today. I do believe this will become my new best friend. As you can imagine, the time when dinner prep would normally happen is a tough time of day, as it is for many families. It sure is nice to have dinner just about ready when that hour rolls around!
God bless!

Jen

Love you guys!

Stay, stay at home, my heart, and rest;
Home-keeping hearts are happiest,
For those that wander they know not where
Are full of trouble and full of care;
To stay at home is best.

Weary and homesick and distressed,
They wander east, they wander west,
And are baffled and beaten and blown about
By the winds of the wilderness of doubt;
To stay at home is best.

Then stay at home, my heart, and rest;
The bird is safest in its nest;
O'er all that flutter their wings and fly
A hawk is hovering in the sky;
To stay at home is best.
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
